ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2018
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2018, students applied to join the Class of 2018 on 285 campuses across 57 nations. 30 campuses worldwide (just 11%) were selected to host the 402 Millennium Fellows in the global pilot this year.
The Class of 2018 is bold, innovative, and inclusive. During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 48,785 hours and their 214 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 393,449 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: The 1742 Model: A Comprehensive Program for Education and Action on The Sustainable Development Goals in the Lehigh Valley
The 1742 Model is one program with four separate branches with varying specific objectives. These four branches include: LGBTQ+ Outreach, Sustainability Education, Housing Insecurity, and Food Reclamation. As a campus director, I oversaw all of these committee, however as an Education Major I particularly focused my efforts on the Education Committee.
The Education Committee reached out to 3 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, and 1 high school to present developmentally appropriate lessons on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. As of today, we have successfully educated 996 students, and are pending to teach approximately 300 more across 1 elementary school and 1 middle school. Our original goal was to reach 500 youth in the Lehigh Valley, and with perseverance and building partnerships, we were able to greatly surpass that goal. We calculated our efforts by having our hosts at the schools we attended, sign a contract stating the date, total number of students, and location.
About the Millennium Fellow
I am a senior at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA studying Early Childhood Education with a focus on Cultural Studies. I grew up in central, New Jersey where there is a largely diverse cultural population. There, I partook in organizing many community events including fundraisers for Hugs for Brady, a local childhood cancer organization, as well as a month long awareness event for Heart Disease. I am passionate about improving education and working with the youth. In my leisure time, I enjoy traveling. I hope to eventually travel to every continent and mature from my experiences abroad.
