United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows.
During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Bringing African Culture In Today's Fashion
The project bringing back Africa's cultural identity in today's fashion provides training to unemployed youths within Kigali city in Rwanda. The main goal of the project is to help youth acquire the skills of using beads in producing accessories. At the end of this project, we hope to bring in at least five participants onboard and raise $500 to purchase materials and tools to begin production.
About the Millennium Fellow
Thabitha Ewoenam Kamalo is a student at the African Leadership University studying International Business and Trade. Thabitha upholds to the understanding that pursuing IBT will help her understand the disciplines of business operation within an international context. Also, how to analyze both local and global business challenges with diverse cultures and emerging with solutions to work them out. She is currently the founder of ThaTheom, a sole proprietorship that deals in the production and sales of accessories mostly beaded bags.
