ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows.
During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

I am passionate about the work that I have as I have seen how unfairly women are treated and how both the rights and needs of women and minority groups are disregarded. I think that this is an important issue that should be worked on. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Women and Minority Group Support (WMGS)
The Women and Minority Group Support (WMGS) seeks to help women and minority groups in Kenya. This will be done by ensuring that these groups are aware of their rights and are able to be treated equally. The project aims to help these groups find equality and equity. I chose this project because I am a firm believer in the strength of women and in the ability of minority groups to positively impact the society. Everyone in the society should feel safe and protected, and those marginalized in society deserve to have their rights fought for.
About the Millennium Fellow
Franchesca Njoroge is a third year student at Strathmore University in Kenya. She is an avid reader and is always reading at least two books at once. She enjoys being outdoors and loves animals, but hates any with more than four legs. Or less than two. Franchesca is an extrovert and loves being with people. She is interested in True Crime and murder mysteries and also loves travelling and deep sea diving. Franchesca is also interested in environmental conservation and gender equality.
