ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2019
United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In the three months the application was open in 2019, over 7,000 young leaders applied to join the Class of 2019 on 1,209 campuses across 135 nations. 69 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 805 Millennium Fellows.
During the Millennium Fellowship, Millennium Fellows' dedicated 96,705 hours and their 422 unique projects positively impacted the lives of 564,366 people worldwide.

Millennium Fellowship Project: C.O.E.X.I.S.T
C.O.E.X.I.S.T is a project promoting awareness of the inequalities faced by individuals through developing a multi-dimensional appreciation of the oneness of humanity. It creates a platform for open dialogue to address all adversities and barriers including health, education, sexuality, religion, beliefs and human rights to having an equal opportunity to life. The aims of this project are not only achieved through a social media platform and face-to-face open dialogue events, but through sub projects where volunteers attain the experience of understanding the challenges faced by minority groups and communities.
About the Millennium Fellow
Sampavi Sivakumar is a Physiotherapy student at Western Sydney University. Sampavi is a health professional as well as being a mentor at DREAM (RELEDEV) a confidence building project for young females of refugee backgrounds and currently serves as the Treasurer for the Rural Health Union of Western Sydney University. Furthermore, she is a student ambassador for Respect.Now.Always and is officially part of Red Cross Youth Emergency Services. Sampavi is an enthusiastic advocate of human rights, gender equality and a social environment where we all can C.O.E.X.I.S.T. Sampavi believes that to break societal preconceptions which prove as barriers to the multi-dimensional aspects of our life such as access to health, education, sexuality, religion, beliefs, human rights etc., it is important to shred labels of prejudice and discrimination. She aspires to become a medical humanitarian worker in the community aid and development sector.
