" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow and have a network of other students leaders to share and exchange ideas with. I think that a key part to great social change is engaging in dialogue and simply being willing to listen to others. I am excited to do so as a Millennium Fellow! "
Millennium Fellowship Project: BASE Camp Media and Content Creator
Currently, I produce and create content each week for BASE camp, a local organization that provides support to children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. BASE camp is involved in a variety of different programs, and I am involved with their Friday Parent's Night Out program, which I attend and document in photo-form each week. I also attend other larger events such as holiday parties, fundraisers, and other fun events. These photographs are then used for newsletters, social media, and promotional materials. I also occasionally make videos for the organization for grant proposals and promotional use as well. As it relates to UN goals, my project is important to good health and well-being of individuals, because I am partnering with an organization that assists children in their day- to-day journey dealing with terminal illnesses. In addition, BASE camp targets not only children who are ill, but their family members, offering a holistic system of support.
