" I am so excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it is such an amazing opportunity to start building a project that is very close to my heart. The program gives students from all around the globe a starting point for developing a project they are passionate about. I am looking forward to meeting like minded students, as motivated as I am to have a positive impact and change the world for the better. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Every Colour
Every Colour is a project that aims at informing young people about the spectrum of sexualities and gender identities, with the goal of reducing inequalities, homophobia and intolerance in schools and beyond. The project fits in with the new regulations that will come into force from September 2020 in England: teaching Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) in primary and secondary schools. Every Colour will propose London-based schools and high schools interactive presentations explaining the range of different sexualities, including discussions regarding the usual clichés about LGBTQIA+ culture and society. The goal of the project is to give pupils inclusive sex education and, through playful presentations, basic knowledge about the different types of sexualities while teaching them tolerance and openness of mind. We seek to do 1 presentation every 2 weeks for the first 2 months, then increased to 1 presentation every week for the remaining 2 months if the project appears to reach the expected success. Our goal is, therefore, to have given 12 presentations by December 2020, to approximately 300 pupils in various London schools.
