" Taking part in the Millennium Fellowship will empower me to take my interest in social impact, particularly regarding mental health and well-being, to the next level. Through the program, I hope to not only acquire the skills to undertake a high-impact project but also connect with other fellows who target different issues but have the same passion for social impact. I believe that when dedicated and socially conscientious people are brought together, collaborate and exchange ideas with each other, our impact will be significantly amplified and meaningful changes will be made. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Lean On Me at Penn

Reach-A-Peer Helpline is an anonymous, confidential peer counseling helpline at the University of Pennsylvania and we have partnered with M.I.T.'s texting service, Lean On Me, to offer a texting version of our original peer counseling service since 2017. Our texting service, open 24/7 throughout the school year, offers support, information, and referrals to students. College life can be overwhelming to a lot of people, and they may not be comfortable openly sharing their concerns and struggles. We hope to provide confidential and non-judgmental emotional support for students, thus alleviating their stress and empowering them to thrive.

We expect that at least 100 people will utilize our texting service from August to December, and that the average rating for conversations completed by our staffers will be at least 4/5
