ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

" Millennium Fellowship is a wonderful platform for taking our social impact one step forward.I want to work socially to make a better living for people.Being a Millennium Fellow will be an amazing opportunity for me to work for my future social impact work. In addition I will get the networks,recognitions that will play a major role in my passion of impacting the youths socially.Millennium Fellowship also envisions to work for social impact works. Being a Millennium Fellow, I will be able to give my goal a chance to be a reality in near future because I believe we are the changemakers who has the responsibility to create impact in our surroundings. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Transforming Specialty

Transforming Specialty is a group project led by six Millenium fellows of the University of Chittagong(CU). It supports SDG 04, quality education, and SDG 08, decent work, and economic growth. The main purpose of this project is to help the visually impaired students of CU in their academics, working on their skill development ensuring their active engagement in extracurricular activities. To gain our project goals we have done some relevant activities and participated in examinations as stenographers, celebrated International White Cane Safety Day, provided academic support. Organized session or ‘Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities-2013’ and its implementation, and ‘Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)’. All of our activities were conducted for our target people, visually impaired students.

About the Millennium Fellow

Israt Jahan Munni is a young youth who is a social science student at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. She was born in Bangladesh and a citizen of Bangladesh and currently resides in Dhaka city. She has the passion to create impact in society socially. She believes that the young changemakers must take the responsibility to change our world into a better place everyday. She endeavours to gather the knowledge, skills and commitment to bring meaningful, lasting change for our surroundings.The distressful situation of the society every now and then makes her think of the underprivileged, distressed, disabled youths who are falling behind due to not getting enough facilities.She believes we are the youths with ambitions who can create a platform for the deprived people and make them skilled through providing them their necessary needs. This belief of her always drives her to get up everyday and work for the deprived people.
