In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. Millennium Fellowship Project: Dunia Bora Initiative
Dunia Bora is a collective initiative launced by Millennium Fellows at Moi University that offers training and mentorship to primary and high school children. During their outreach, the cohort at Moi University focused on peace education, health particularly mental and oral health through partnerships and support from bodies such as Heroes for Change were we able to offer these children a token of appreciation for their time in the form of books and toothpaste. The team also managed to have a tree planting exercise with the children in a bid to promote sound environmental practices.
About the Millennium Fellow
Whitney Achieng' Ouma is a diligent,innovative amd promising Media and Communication student at Moi University situated in Kenya. She loves to take journals about nature and life that help improve her self awareness and that of her surroundings.She passionately aims at developing instinctive thoughts and skills to have a healthy relationship with herself and people she relates with on a daily basis.She has developed strong sensations of purpose that strives to provide a safe space that is child sensitive (human rights) and effective to help acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable mental development and sustainable lifestyles making the world more secure and sustainable. Whitney aspires to be in a professional field where she can align these advocacies further to promote the development of the United Nationals' Sustainable Goals.
