" Communal well being has been the centre stone for my non profit organization- Jeevanadi. Millennium Fellowship will align us with the right community and fulfill the joint goals of our NGO and UNAI/ SDG goals. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Jeevanadi
Project Jeevanadi focuses on creating a meaningful impact primarily on three important social issues: Financial literacy for women and school children, menstrual health and quality education for underprivileged children and education for underserved children.
1. Financial Literacy: A topic that isn’t given much attention in schools which in turn leads to students growing up to make poor life decisions in their future. Women and children in India have always held a paradoxical position when it comes to making financial decisions, we empower them through conducting workshops, by guiding them step-by-step in attaining a level of financial literacy.
2. Menstrual Health & Hygiene: According to one study, only 36% of India’s 336 million menstruating females use sanitary napkins while the rest use life-threatening materials to manage the flow leading to issues due to it. Our team aims to educate women about menstrual health and distribute basic sanitary kits through various on-ground operations.
3. Education for underserved children: Our team is passionate about educating children who do not have access to the resources to fulfil their potential with personal mentoring sessions. We believe that enabling them is the first step to fixing what is missing in our society. We will be tutoring them in basic subjects and offering career guidance to help them realize their goals.
