ABOUT THE MILLENNIUM FELLOWSHIP - CLASS OF 2021

United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. In 2021, over 25,000 young leaders on 2,000+ campuses across 153 nations applied to join the Class of 2021. 136 campuses worldwide (just 6%) were selected to host the 2,000+ Millennium Fellows. The Class of 2021 is bold, innovative, and inclusive.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Making Her Story Speak

Making her story speak is a Millennium Fellowship Project that aims at promoting gender equality and the rights of women and girls among Nigerian youths. It tend to debunk the myth around Gender Based Violence and expose the populace to prevention, identification and possible solutions.
Our vision is of a world defined by social justice and gender equality - one where women and girls everywhere are able to claim their rights, freed from discrimination and prejudice.

About the Millennium Fellow

Azeezat Oluwaferanmi Adekanye is a penultimate student of the Department of Political Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. A goal driven and value oriented person who has core interests in leadership, gender issues and administration. Effectively certified by various organizations including but not limited to Gender Centre for Empowering Development (Ghana), National Endowment for Democracy (United States of America), Africa Leadership Institute, Jobberman Ng, Society for Political Methodology on various issues relating to her interests.

Tracing her trajectory as an individual who has penchant for capacity building and self development, she is a Millennial Fellow Class of the United Nations, 2021. Similar to this is her being the current President of The Astute Debaters Club, OAU with the experience of governing a class of over 150 students for three consecutive sessions.

She has facilitated various community engagement projects and democracy boot camps which caters, focuses and sensitizes women on a wide range of concerns that are always raised when matters concerning women are being discussed. She is a mental health advocate and human rights advocate. Azeezat is a writer, a media personnel and a public speaker.
