Millennium Fellowship Project: AmplifiK
AmplifiK is an initiative that pretends to create safe spaces for young Mexican women to learn to identify gender-violent situations, impacting, principally, on SDG #5: Gender Equality and, secondly, #4: Quality Education.
The main objective of this project is to conscientize Mexican women between the ages of 11 and 18 years old about topics regarding gender violence situations and their personal development as women in the society they live in. Some of these being: micromachismos, which are the daily “normalized” patriarcal conducts, sexual education, entrepreneurship, healthy relationships, among others.
The channels through which this information will be transmitted are two:
Social media. Through which posts and dynamics will be shared, in order to create an online community.
Workshops for girls in public schools, orphanages and cultural and sports entities. These will be carried out together with experts in the topic, such as academics, psychologists, etc.
About the Millennium Fellow
Daniela Pérez is an empathetic, dedicated Human Capital Administration student at the University of Monterrey. She was born in Mexico City, she lived for over a year in Germany working as an Au-Pair, and has been in Brazil for a sociological investigation project. Since a young age, Daniela has been strongly driven by the will of helping people and has been particularly passionate about women’s rights, social justice and ecology. In the past years, she has participated in multiple social activities involving teaching, female empowerment and community conscientization. Daniela aspires to develop professionally and contribute by creating better and more just work conditions in the labor sphere; as well as to continue being engaged with actions that develop the United Nation’s Sustainable Goals.
