Millennium Fellowship Project: Own Your Period.
There's a high rate of period poverty in northern Nigeria, the girls have little to no knowledge on menstruation and menstrual health so this project is going to focus on menstrual hygiene, girls in the community will be oriented on menstruation, menstrual health and also reusable pads will be provided for them.
About the Millennium Fellow
Wasila Muhammad Yahaya is a 200 level medical of student of Ahmadu Bello University located in Zaria, Kaduna, Nigeria. She is a determined and bright girl who tries her best to do anything she puts her mind to. Growing up in a society with gender discrimination fueled her desire to be a gender equity and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights advocate. She has participated in outreaches as a volunteer and looks forward to organizing her very own project. It is because of this that she wants to gain more knowledge so that she may be in a better position to help, She wishes to connect with other people who share the same goals, in a professional setting.
