" Individuals can only do so much. It is only when we come together as a community that we can find effective and permanent solutions. I'm excited to build that community and the opportunity learn through my Fellow colleagues during the Fellowship. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: EarthViews

My goal with this project was/is to raise awareness about the destructive impact they have on our water bodies due to improper waste collection. I also conducted further research into the issue to understand the chemical structure of contact lenses, the possible impacts in incineration, and a list of industrial waste to energy plants or incineration plants in Delhi that used lenses can be sent to.

In the coming months, I hope to set up a system to collect used contact lenses with the dormitories, to be sent to waste to energy plants nearby. Although this isn't a perfect solution, it will slightly improve the current solution.
