" A lot of what we are taught about online privacy and security is rooted in the belief that privacy is absolute. Very commonly, forgoing the use of modern technologies and social media is myopically advocated as a solution to protecting privacy online. Such solutions are detrimental because they ignore fundamental aspects of modern technologies and the flow of information. Instead of being understood as an absolute state, my aim is to help young people develop a more nuanced understanding of maintaining one's privacy online and equip them with the tools to do so "

Millennium Fellowship Project: LearnPrivacy

TeachPrivacy teaches young adults about privacy and security in an increasingly online world. The project is an an effort to build compelling, memorable, and intelligible privacy education programmes

About the Millennium Fellow

Kartikeya Reddy is a student of Politics, International Relations and Computer Science at Ashoka University. Born in Uttar Pradesh, India, he grew up in different towns and cities of his country. Traveling frequently, Kartikeya learnt to form commmunities of choice on the internet but also to value his privacy and security online. His early experiences on the web led him to develop a deep interest in cybersecurity, privacy, and the politics of the internet. Through his project, Kartikeya hopes to help young people make more informed choices about how they can effectively regulate the personal information they share online, and learn more about the politics of the internet.
