" Being able to work on an established project which has a direct impact on the well-being of others is a way for me to grow. The Millennium Fellowship provides me an opportunity to collect all my thoughts and desires of helping someone and putting it into effect. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: The Parity Project
The Parity Project was created with the primary goal of achieving gender equality in primary education.
We believe that gender inclusivity can only be ingrained at an early age, and education is the strongest tool in our possession to achieve a disparity and bias free world. Thus, the project aims to create gender-inclusive modules of education and work towards their spread in primary education in India.
Plan of Action: We aim to work in collaboration with Non-Governmental Organizations (Bengaluru, India), that work in the education sector. With their assistance, we plan to contact teachers of primary schools in the urban sector, and assess their understanding of the existing gender gaps in the classroom. Post this, we work with the same teachers to create long-term, implementable modules to introduce gender equality as an idea in subjects taught at the primary level.
