" "Intrigued by the intersection of culture and language, motivated to bring creative writing to all those who have yet to find their voice and self through the power of words, and continuously striving to find ways of positively impacting the world around me, I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow and get one step closer towards these hopes." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Kids Tales

For my millennium fellowship project, I want to bring the power of writing to children in every corner of the world who don’t have access to writing opportunities, beginning with those in my local communities. Now as a Millenium Fellow following the guidance of the SDG #4 , I am bringing Kids Tales to as many children as possible in the local community. As for the workshops, we have developed a four-days workshop curriculum including interactive lessons on writing techniques, brainstorming exercises, writing and revision sessions, learning games, and identity exploration group activities.

About the Millennium Fellow

Linda Pang is a second year anthropology and CS student in Columbia University in New York. She is from the coastal city Dalian, China, attended an international middle school in Seoul, South Korea, and has been studying in the US since high school. She is passionate about finding the connections between language and culture and have found creative writing to be one of the mediums of doing so. Since high school she has been working with a nonprofit to bring creative writing workshops to underprivileged children in China and is looking forward to continuing this effort and enlarging the scope of reach to the university campus. She seeks to make a positive impact and believe the Millennium Fellowship will be a great opportunity to start.
