Project Outreach is an umbrella initiative that aims at ensuring inclusive and equitable education for underprivileged kids. This project is targeted at rural and low socioeconomic areas.
Basic education not only assists with alleviating the quality of life but also has positive ripple-on effects that can improve the well-being of the broader community. Covid-19 has already wiped out 20 years of Education gains. Only 45% of primary and secondary school students are proficient in their studied subjects at school. Other problems include the inadequacy of basic facilities. Only 56% of students have access to fresh drinking water and 40% to sanitation facilities.

The initiative includes collaborating with NGOs and authorities to build sanitation facilities in schools, especially for girls and taps for drinking portable water. Conducting online donation drives to set up free and open internet in schools and distributing pens/notebooks to children who can’t afford it. The project also envisions conducting workshops with different topics each week to bridge the gap that formal education may not cover. Topics to generate awareness include financial and legal literacy, menstrual hygiene, sex-ed, child abuse (eg: good touch, bad touch) & mental health. Teaching basic Math and Spoken English is also targeted.
