Millennium Fellowship Project: Environmental Awareness at Egerton University

The Environmental Awareness project is a project aimed to mobilize youth at Egerton university to join hands together in maintaining a clean environment and provide information about the role and responsibility of the community to maintain a clean environment.

About the Millennium Fellow

Patrick Awino Owino is a bright, motivated student who is currently taking a degree course at Egerton University in Kenya where he is taking a degree in Agribusiness Management. He is very dedicated and aspire to achieve more when it comes to matters affecting environment.
He was born in Kenya in a county called Nairobi though his father's place is in Kisumu county and that makes him share the same county as his home. He is currently enrolled into a degree program at Egerton University which is in Nakuru county.
Patrick's passion contains a lot since he is addicted into environmental matters and so to add on that he likes it more when the environment becomes condusive for living organisms to be in. During his time as a primary student, he engaged in an activity where led to the community to embrace planting of trees and by that he led as an example and together with his scout members they achieved it and made the school to be decorated with trees. He also extended the act to the community of Kisumu where he participated in cleaning of the environment by picking litres and opening trenches to prevent flooding.
Patrick is passionate in studying law and it is his dream that one day he would become an advocate who will balance and differentiate what is true from what is just. He has been into community activities where he is assisting a non governmental organization called Crime Si Poa in fighting crime and educating communities on legal knowledge. He is also a trained paralegal who assist the communities in legal matters. In future he is expecting to make a change in judicial system and make the citizens realize that justice exist.
