" Environmental concerns like heat waves, and the related changes in weather phenomena are issues that know no borders; it has the potential to impact each one of us and change our lives for the worse, and this impact is most prominent on people marginalized by the society. I desire to work towards mitigating the same issues, and I believe that the Millennium Fellowship will give me the platform and oppurtunity to connect and work with likeminded people, so that our voices can be heard. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Dhyan
Project Dhyan, which translates to Project Care, justifies its name as it aims to deal with the impacts of heat waves by studying the associated vulnerabilities across different socio-economic pockets of Delhi, and in doing so, mapping out such areas, and simultaneously working in awareness-generation campaigns to create an awareness about heat waves and their impacts. Project Dhyan is a group-based project comprising of students, guided by our professors and mentors, working together as a group for the achievement of our mission.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ananya Priyadarshini is extremely passionate about working towards solving the rising environmental concerns. She is a determined, courageous, and hard-working individual who believes in the power of words and actions. Born and raised in India, she is a student of Geography at Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi, and is a part of Project Dhyan. Her interest in environmental and social issues bloomed very early in her life, and she has been a part of several eco-clubs and fund-raising projects, and constantly raises her voice against all forms of injustice.
