Millennium Fellowship Project: Education and Justice
My project revolves around education in broader sense. It involes educating people about the tranformative legislations they can make use of, educating and sensistizing stake holders about marginalized identities like child and women rights. Also, counseling students about careers options availble today.
About the Millennium Fellow
Baffled with the questions of dignified coexistence and ordered social interactions, Ubaid, following his secondary education in Philosophy, Political Science and History walks into study of laws for his answers. He is now in final year of his BALLB studies at School of Law, University of Kashmir.
In his experience hitherto he has of considered opinion law is indusputable part of our good as humankind, a significant means to justice. It upsets him that even after 75 years of democratic journey vast size of his countreymen are ignorant of their basic rights which he partly attributes to sole reliance on State as some savour.
He is afraid, as the world is on sacred journey to meet the SDGs targets it set for itself, his Fellow citizens are not left behind. To that end, he thinks, it comes down to awared people to beome part of journey, this hope to make our world a better place to live. It is from this belief he as a concious human takes up on himself, through Millennium Fellowship , this responsibliity to leave positive impact on the people part of his community.
