" Problem-solving and critical thinking has enhanced my love for technology in all aspects of health-including mental health. Artificial Intelligence through machine learning can best be guided by proper leadership skills to set the par for technology in the development and prevention of mental health illnesses among the youth. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: AKILI SAWA

Akili Sawa is a mental health project that helps the youth in universities and unemployed persons under age 30 to manage their mental health. More than 50 percent of the youth in Kenya are depressed due to various factors including lack of basic needs, and unemployment. The project seems to test user mental health using a web application (leveraging tech for the good of everyone, mentally). The diagnosis made by the app should then give recommendations to the users on how to mitigate their mental health issues.
