Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Shikshya
Project Shikshya is an endeavor to ensure quality education in the juvenile reform home of Nepal. Juvenile delinquents are children below the age of 18 who are in conflict with the law. The age group of 11-18 is a pivotal point for the development of one’s personality and access to quality education is vital to ensure this. Quality education plays a constructive role in accessing various opportunities for these juveniles to lead a quality life once they reintegrate into society and Project Shikshya focuses on these areas. . The project focuses on providing intensive classes on psycho-social development, career counseling, etc. We aim to incorporate long-term solutions and policy measures to enhance the teaching-learning method as the juvenile reform home still follows the conventional method of teaching.
Along with this, the project also intends to create a research report that will include a general observation of the education system of the Juvenile Reform Home, a comparative study of education-related policies inside the reform home around the world, and methods to address difficulties that are hindering quality education.
About the Millennium Fellow
Sadiksha Adhikari is an undergraduate in law. She is articulate and passionate about the law and is looking to expand her knowledge in the regulation of international law and keenly working on her leadership skill. She has always dreamt of advocating for social justice.
