" Communication and collaboration excites me the most. They motivate me to give my full potentials, develop my myself, and come up with new creative ideas. I believe that being a Millennium Fellowship will provide me with a platform to share my ideas, be innovative, and get inspired by others. This program will also help me in elevating my skills and embracing a growth mindset. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Beyond Boundaries
"Beyond Boundaries" is a project that aims in helping High-school students in choosing the career major that suits their desired lifestyle, skills, and values. We also plan on implementing after-school workshops for high schoolers that provide mental health awareness sessions, better communication, and self-determination skills. This project aims to enhance the teaching and learning quality in Lebanese schools. There will be direct interactions with the students during the 2 months of implementing the project through workshops that could provide better communication and leadership skills and the ability to adapt to the complex changes happening in Lebanon. This initiative will influence the community by decreasing dropout rates, fulfilling students' aspirations, and opening new perspectives. We will be targeting one specific school and working with them.
About the Millennium Fellow
Dima Ismail is an enthusiastic individual driven by her passion to help others. Ever since she was in middle school she used to volunteer in local centers to help individuals who have disability. Her love for equality provoked her to work as a student tutor in high school so that she can guide orphans who need help in solving their homeworks. Perhaps this is what pushed her to pursue education as major. This said, Dima chose advocacy to help her in making a change in her community and hopefully changing the misogynistic and abilistic mindsets that people around her have. She's currently working on SDG 4 (Quality education) where she targeted both students with ADHD and student's mental health. Her goal is to leave a positive impact in the life of the people she meets.
