" Emotional Intelligence, creative thinking and leadership skills are what I am mostly looking forward to enhance during my participation in the Millennium Fellowship. I am looling forward to gain these skills and apply them in the respective targeted community. Helping marginalised individuals acquire these essential skills. Building communities starts with every one of us, therefore, we have a responsibility to change. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: WomEn: WE Organize, Manage & Negotiate

Work with marginalized women, from different nationalities and ethnic backgrounds, who were not capable of leading a decent life due to the difficult circumstances they went through. This project is principally aiming to give these women leadership skills, basic business leading courses as a start-up. It aims not only to share the knowledge but also, to help women lead their lives professionaly and depend on themselves through offering additional courses of knitting, cooking and baking, selling products... chiefly using their specialty and several skills to secure a safe livelihood and depend on themselves along the way.

About the Millennium Fellow

Elissa Trad is a young, bright and purpose-driven person. She's passionate about psychology and loves interacting with children whilst ensuring a safe environment that favors their development on several levels, including personal and social. Elissa had, what she calls a normal childhood. However, she had to take on much responsibilities as the eldest. Her middle school days were not the best especially that she had to overcome several arising problems such as the health risks her mother was facing, the financial difficulties they got into after her father's resignation... Her first psychological visit had an impact on her life later on. She found it fascinating, especially the human's mind and how it works. Therefore, Elissa decided to start advocating for mental, serving the community on many levels and aiding NGOs whilst ensuring the respect and rights of every person she meets. Elissa is not only a volunteer in many NGOs, she also takes every single opportunity to get into a program and advance her skills. Securing s very high GPA along with valuable extracurriculars granted her the honors scholarship. Yet, a BA in Psychology is not Elissa's ultimate goal; since she is always striving for better, getting a master's degree is her next academic milestone. Elissa wants to change the world, she wants to be the change. She likes trying new things and discovering places, loves reading and enjoys connecting with new people.
