" Innovation, transformative leadership and social entrepreneurship is what drives my work that I do in my community. I can safely say that the UN Millennium Fellowship value those same phenomenons and I can't wait to implement these into my community project. I can't believe I did not know what Social Impact or Social entrepreneurship was two years ago, and now all the work that I do and all my future holds is social impact. This will be a huge step in the right direction for me and my career in social impact. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: TAMKIN

TAMKIN is a social enterprise that provides a self-care subscription box for black men. These products range from haircare, skincare, body care, and beard care! We partner with other black-owned self-care brands to add their products to our inventory. We only have black-owned products in our box to further our efforts to circulate the black dollar and encourage the community to buy black. All of the products in our box are made with natural and organic ingredients as we strive to provide our customers with a safe self-care routine. Our mission is to educate black men on the importance of self-care and give them an outlet to implement these practices into their daily lives. Cultivating a community of black support is pivotal in accomplishing our goals and part of our mission. My mission with the UN Millennium Fellowship is to expand TAMKIN's "Giving Black" Initiative. This will include a black business pitch competition, our annual TAMKIN Toy Drive, and a series of workshops we host in partnership with schools and local organizations. Our self-care workshops aim to educate our youth within the black community on what self-care is, why it's important, and how they can implement self-care into their daily lives.
