Millennium Fellowship Project: Women in Power
As women ourselves, we experience gender discrimination all around us. As two of our representatives plan to practice law, and one anticipates entering business, our organization seeks parity for women regarding equal pay. “Women in Power” plans to tackle the issue of gender wage gaps within the work force.
About the Millennium Fellow
Jaclyn Nicole Schembri is a motivated, passionate, and charismatic college student who is currently majoring in Social Entrepreneurship through the Watson Institue at Lynn University. Jaclyn was born and raised in South Florida. She is determined to make an impact within society through plant-based sustainability and gender equality. Jaclyn's mission, as a part of the UN Millennium Fellowship, is regarding women empowerment within the workforce and reforming gender wage gaps. Unequal pay and mistreatment within the workforce has been an ongoing issue for women since the suffrage movement. Jaclyn Schembri is eager to help reform this social issue and increase statistical awareness of women pay wages compared to men in South Florida.
