I also believe that being a Millennium Fellow , I will be able to spread awareness to communities and my Fellow colleagues about sustainable development , so that we can all pledge to protect our Mother Earth. Millennium Fellowship Project: Call to Earth
We would like to focus on creating awareness on environmental causes.We would like to reduce plastic consumption and encourage use of cloth bags and do beach cleaning ,if possible to prevent presence of plastic taht may effect aqualife.We would also like to do survey and quizes towards the end of the programme to know our impact on the society .We would also like to host competitions like poster making competition for the sake of the programme and also produce cloth bags and sell them at a reasonable value to raise funds that would help contribute to organisations supporting wildlife and environment protection.We would also like arrange thrift shops and do petition drives
About the Millennium Fellow
Elsa Susan Jain is an optimistic,bright and hard working student who strives to excel in whatever she does.She was born in India and resides in Ernakulam,a district in southern state of Kerala , India.She is currently pursuing her bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from Govt. Model Engineering College , Thrikkara. She has a profound interest in nature and its creatures. ln her high school days, she has participated in a Green program which aims to increase greenary around the school. She finds happiness in these projects and self -satisfaction. She has recorded the biodiversity of her school in particular during that program and also submitted a mango project along with her teammates. During her middle school days,she has participated in a school competition called "Best out of waste" and won 2nd place with her teammates. The contest needs the participants to create eco friendly products from waste materials. She has also shown her active participation in the climate change and the environment conference which was conducted by her school in collaboration with Indian Institute of Science and Divecha Centre for Climate Change ,which was conducted during the flood crisis of her state and gained meaningful information about climate change and its impact . She believes that good knowledge on her environment will make one a more responsible citizen and strives to achieve the same.
