Millennium Fellowship Project: AMR Awareness Project
The AMR Awareness Project is a sensitization,educative and an advocacy initiative about creating awareness about Antimicrobial resistance to health workers,health care students and the entire community.
Its is a way of addressing the Global Health Security agencies.
About the Millennium Fellow
I was born on 24th October 2000,a Ugandan by birth,born and raised in Uganda, a son to Mr. and Mrs Tibenda Eric.
I went to Bwera Junior School for my primary where I excelled with only distinctions in Primary Leaving Examinations,joined St Charles Vocational Secondary for my O-level and Plus Two High School,Bushenyi for my A-level. I later joined medical school from Mbarara University of Science and Technology for my undergraduate studies till date.
Besides that, I have attended a myriad of courses and skills training institutions such as Writing a Winning Grant Course from the School of Public Health-Makerere University,Global Health Course,Competence in COVID 19 Vaccination Course for Health Workers from MildMay Institute of Health Sciences that is accredited by Uganda Dental and Medical Practitioners,Future Leaders against Antimicrobial Resistance Course from PAR Foundation in the U.S,Novel Technologies in Diagnosis ,treatment and Management of Tuberculosis from Havard medical School, AIDS Patients' Management and Care for Health Professionals Education Partnership Initiative(HEPI-TUITAH) Course from Mbarara University,Management of Alzeihmer’s disease Training from Mbarara University,Certificate in COVID 19 Patients' Management and Care from Common Wealth Pharmacists Association,Received European Resuscitation Council qualification for providing Basic Life Support(BLS) from Emergency Care Course Uganda, Participation in the International Pharmaceutical Student’s AFRO Discussion on COVID19 Vaccine Hesitancy in Africa, Certificate in Biomedical Laboratory Technology Applications in Medicine and Research from Makerere University, Certificate of Participation in Medical Students’ Research Champions for Antimicrobial Resistance from ReAct Africa among others.
I represented uganda in The International Antimicrobial Resistance Hackathon for Health Professionals 2021 and made it to the second runners up position, I was a Team Leader in The Alzheimer’s Disease community based research at Kyamuhunga Health Centre (III),Bushenyi District 2022Published work on ‘Community Engagement in Curtailing the Prevalence of Antimicrobial Resistance’ in The African Health Anchor Magazine 2021 among others.
I currently serve as the Grants and Fundraising Officer at the Great Lakes Peace Centre Organisation in Uganda. I have served as the Projects Manager at the Students Network Organization uganda,Global Health Coordinator,Mentor at Peace Jam Uganda and a junior research scientist among others.
