Millennium Fellowship Project: Citizen's Welfare Initiative

The project aims to work towards sustainable waste disposal and waste segregation, by following the route of active community participation. We encourge people to come out of their houses and clean their locality by picking up garbge and clearing garbage dumps. In the process, we also deal with the stigmatisation of the sanitation workers and the castiest nature of sanitation work, by forwarding the message that it is the primary responsibity of every citizen to make sure hat they reside in a clean, healthy environment.

About the Millennium Fellow

Stuti Agrawal is a bright scholar currently enrolled in the BA-LLB programme at Jindal Global Law School. She originally hails from the city of Sambalpur in the eastern state of Odisha. She has always been very inquisitive and observational, qualities that sowed the seeds for the organisation she leads. She, through Sambalpur Citizens Welfare Initiative, intends to build a platform for environmental and social issues that plague the idea of sustainable and equitable growth in India and the world at large. She has worked in the area of waste segregation, waste disposal and bridging the historical 'caste' divide prevelant in the demographic of sanitation workers. She is keen on expanding her knowledge base and the organisation's area of operation. She looks forward to engaging with the Fellow scholars on an intellectual level to collectively work towards ensuring the growth and prosperity of the entire humankind.
