Millennium Fellowship Project: Mental Health and You
The project aims to enlighten and sensitize students of Osun State University and secondary schools in Osogbo, Nigeria, on mental health and how they can take proper care of it.
The project focuses on educating students on the causes, symptoms and prevention of different forms of mental illnesses and how people can seek help from from loved ones and professional therapists to successfully manage mental illness.
The project also helps to demystify myths surrounding mental illness and discourage stigmatization and discrimination against people with mental illness.
About the Millennium Fellow
Oyedeji-jamiu Sakinah is a young and smart citizen, as well as a resident of Nigeria.
She is currently a medical student at Osun State University, Nigeria.
Right from inception, Sakinah always has a passion to help humanity with whatever
little she can afford, which made her take up many leadership role as well as
volunteering for community outreach and sensitizations.
Also, she look forward to being in a profession which has a lot of positive impact on the
society, and is excited at the opportunity to be able to partake and contribute in the
advancement of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals within her community.
