" The Millennium Fellowship will help support my efforts for disability inclusion by offering the resources necessary to conduct change. I am beyond excited to participate in the Fellowship because I can bring positive change to my college campus and impact the way Pace University students consider disabilities. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Bringing the Sunflower to Pace

I am working to provide support to the Pace University community with hidden disabilities. Hidden disabilities are disabilities that are not externally visible to the human eye, such as anxiety disorder, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, chronic pain, Crohn’s disease, and fibromyalgia. I am working to create a relationship with the university’s Student Accessibility Services office and raise money. With the money raised, we will become an official member of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower project to provide educational resources to the community and support to those with disabilities.

About the Millennium Fellow

Lucie Flagg is a student at Pace University's NYC campus studying Film & Screen Studies. She is originally from Pittsburgh, PA. In 2021, Lucie was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and was quickly introduced to the common practices of ableism. In an attempt to learn more about disability inclusion, she came across the Sunflower Lanyard, a scheme based in the UK. This scheme provides necessary education to the public on disabilities and support to disabled individuals. Throughout the Fellowship, Lucie plans to bring this scheme to Pace University, making it the first US campus to participate.
