Millennium Fellowship Project: Equality In All Eyes
Gender equality is a human right, and we need to make sure that everyone has the same opportunities as everyone else. There are a lot of ways to reduce inequality through education. For example, by providing more girls with access to education and training, we can help them get better jobs and earn higher incomes. This will help them improve their lives and lift themselves out of poverty. The world has the potential to be a much better place if we can reduce inequality. There are many ways to do this, we should let people live more fulfilling and productive lives by creating equal opportunities for everyone. Such as giving equal pay for equal work, being open to ideas, opening opportunity gates in undiscovered sectors, and, most importantly, Education!
Education is the most powerful tool to reduce or prevent any wrongdoing. Thus, my project aims at educating all the young children and the youth to make them understand how important gender equality is and what role it plays, and how they can be an important part of making this world equal for all by promoting this reform and creating a change in their communities.
This project started by giving the participants a survey about their opinion on gender equality. It contained questions such as "What do you believe is the most important thing for gender equality?" and "What has been your reaction when someone has said that men and women are not equal?" and “Do you know any laws that protect people from gender inequalities, do you think they are making any significant difference?”, etc. This will give us a basic understanding and solid data of how far people are aware. Once people understand their awareness, they will understand the world around them. Then we will start conducting free education and training programs in various universities and schools to teach them about Gender Equality and how education is a tool for Sustainable Development Goals.
We will also do our best to educate people about the laws that protect them against gender inequality through videos, articles and lectures. This is a project that not only aims to raise awareness of gender equality but also to help educate people and eradicate poverty. We want everyone to know how important it is for everyone to live a happy life. We also want people who believe they are not equal or have unfair treatment in society to learn why they deserve just as much as the next person and what resources are available for them if they are mistreated.
