" The skills I gain from the Millennium Fellowship programme will help make my endeavors more tangible and will act as a launching board for future projects. It will provide me with a deeper understanding of the challenges, technical expertise and methods that are most persuasive in order to actively elicit action within the target audience. It will also enable me to legitimize myself as an environmental actor - making it easier to be involved with similar projects in the future. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project EEDA

The project entailed 2 events organized in a two-pronged approach: “Environmental Education and Direct Action” (EEDA). Environmental education will involve the screening of documentaries and discussions organized with field experts. Each session will be followed by a direct action opportunity in order to create concrete change.

About the Millennium Fellow

Gayatri Sishir Sahaay is a student studying in France who is passionate about making the environment an active part of daily discourse. Growing up in India, she witnessed the rapid deterioration of environmental health as a result of urbanization, and its effects on innumerous livelihoods. She firmly belives in the power of legislation and innovation to help turn around the trajectory that our planet is set on. She believes that every individual and institution being hyper-aware on a micro-level of their contributions to the global climate crisis is imperative to the success of the movement. Since accountability is key in achieving this vision, measureable impact through direct action can be an important incentive in striving towards this mind-set shift. Gayatri hopes to shape a career in International Relations, where she can use larger platforms to contribute towards environmental action.
