" The incredible mentorship provided at the Fellowship will be a great opportunity for me to start engaging in the societal issues actively. Further, this provides great incentive in my work to pursue social justice as it pushes me to take action towards solving these issues rather than sitting back. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Zero Hunger
Involved provision of hot lunch to children from poor backgrounds to ease the burden on rescue centres that are often filled beyond capacity and to reduce truancy as it enables improved concentration.
About the Millennium Fellow
My name is Cynthia Shihemi, a third year student who has been borne and bred in Kenya. I have always been passionate in self-growth.However, this remains a challenge in a highly unequal society as I have grown to notice people around me who lack the ability to afford basic resources. As a result, I have grown to be passionate about development particularly that of ending hunger.Realising the importance of food and its connection to all other issues affecting society has moved me to join programs that recognise and aim at eradicating the issue. This would be a marvelous opportunity to do so.
