" The framework of human rights grounds my advocacy work in public health and reproductive justice. I am so excited to connect with folks at UC Davis and across other campuses who are also committed to advancing human rights and building a more equitable world! The Millennium Fellowship gives us the opportunity to work together and share organizing strategies, so that our projects on the local level can affect change and mobilize more people to take action. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: JVMC Reproductive Health Clinic
Our goal is to re-open Joan Viteri Memorial Clinic's Reproductive Health Clinic, which would offer specialty OB-GYN services to address reproductive health needs in the Oak Park community. These include STI testing, pap smears, and birth control consultations and prescriptions. Continuing in JVMC's tradition of providing unbiased care with a harm reduction philosophy, the Reproductive Health Clinic would serve sex workers, trans and houseless folks, and low-income or uninsured community members.
