Millennium Fellowship Project: Ar Lukabo Na Lal
Project "Ar Lukabo Na Lal" is on a mission of ending period poverty and busting misconceptions concerning menstruation hygiene. Menstruators belonging to underprivileged communities of Bangladesh use unhygienic and risky measures. They use rags and clothes instead of hygienic period products and often label discussing about menstruation and spreading awareness as a taboo. This project aims to break these barriers and focuses on finding ways to reach out to these people who view maintaining safe health and hygiene as a luxury, only to make them realize they too deserve to be celebrated as menstuators and their health matter too.
About the Millennium Fellow
Oishee Shirin Haq, a 23 year old philanthropist, has always been an active advocate for gender equality and human rights in the country. Starting from volunteering to help the affected during natural disasters to fire outbreaks, Oishee has always worked for people and country. Besides all these social work, Oishee also maintains good scores in academics to work towards achieving the SDGs of UN and for relevant the causes even in professional setting as well.
