Millennium Fellowship Project: Zilo

"Zilo" is a project reuniting scarce resources to maximise awareness on water resources and their value. Water being an essential element and Mauritius being surrounded by water, the millennium fellows of the University of Mauritius will be organising simple activities to promote the SDG 14 such as cleanups of water bodies, reducing marine pollution, raising awareness on the importance of mangroves, among others.

About the Millennium Fellow

Luvlesh Rahul Vickchit Rughoonauth is a young, perseverent and passionate Economics and Finance student at the University of Mauritius. Born and residing in the multicultural island-state Mauritius, he aspires to be a global citizen who appreciates the plethora of cultures and languages our world is gifted with. Rahul believes that, in order to help and celebrate every culture and every nation, realising the Sustainable Development Goals is one of the top priorities. Together with his team, he co-founded a hub in his locality which aims at improving the quality of life of the residents by providing youngsters with a safe haven where they can meet and learn together. Rahul wants to grow in a career that will help him stay close to his values and contribute to the SDGs.
