Millennium Fellowship Project: Prevention of Malnutrition in Children
Project involved sensitization of the rural community on the importance of feeding in children aged 0-5 years
Targeted population were mostly women but as well as men who are the head of the household and expected to support in the proper feeding and well being of the children
Women were mostly met at vaccination centres and Antenatal consultations where health talks were given on the importance of proper feeding of the young ones
Health talks were animated by slides and pictures for demonstration in order to maximize understanding .
Also visited churches where we were given few miutes after the sermon to talk to the congregation
During these period we noticed most of the reasons behind malnutrition in children were: negligence, lack of information and lack of finance and our sensitization campaigns were able to tackle the first two problems
About the Millennium Fellow
Toh Carine Tifuh is 22 year old medical student in the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Bamenda,Cameroon. She is hardworking ,interesting,fun and most especially passionate about the things she engages in.As a young female from humble beginnings, she aims at making a positive impact in the community that surrounds her and the world at large.she enjoys cooking,sports like basketball and the works of nature. She is single and has two Siblings.
