Millennium Fellowship Project: Sustainability at it's best:An Effort for better Tomorrow
Sustainability at it's best is the name and motto of the project
It focuses on bringing sustainable development and prevent climate change and reduce carbon emissions.
India is a tropical country and is facing heat wave right now. The major reason is, climate change and to prevent that my project brings into the picture the idea of sustainability.
The major inputs in the project includes
1) Green campus zero waste policy
My campus is already a zero waste campus all the waste that is generated is recycled and the akkas and helpers make basket and products out of it which I feel can be sold in an organised fest or market during one of our gratitude weeks.
2) Solar panels to be inserted because India gets a lot of solar power from sun and Bangalore is perfect place to use solar power and save a lot of electricity. I would work towards this initiative to get solar panel inserted in my campus and promote solar energy.
3) Paper recycling and make books out of recycled paper. Reduces paper waste
4) Promote cycles among student it holds double advantage reduces carbon emissions and helps them to exercise.
5) Awareness campaigns.
