Millennium Fellowship Project: Nirmal: A sustainable initiative for reducing waste production and waste segregation

Nirmal followed the SDG-12: Responsible Consumption and Production. The project aimed to spread awareness to the community about waste production and segregation. It explored the present beliefs of the people regarding what truly is careful waste production. On a pilot interview done to understand these beliefs, I understood that while the people were somewhat aware about waste segregation, careful waste production was an impossibility. Therefore, the project included sessions with nearby public schools on waste production and segregation, and interviewing the population of my university about ideas we can utilise to reduce waste production, and psychoeducation the younger population of the school about it.
