Millennium Fellowship Project: IforCDL
Climate change presents challenges that transcend both national boundaries and short-term financial considerations: in the words of the UN Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance, Mark Carney, "climate change is a tragedy of the horizons." Embracing this perspective, our project acknowledges the intricacies of addressing a phenomenon with far-reaching implications, and thereby the need for widespread awareness and collective initiatives.
IforCDL is a youth-led initiative focused on widening access to information, resources, inspiration, and engagement opportunities in the realms of economic development, climate finance, international cooperation, and youth leadership. By fostering understanding and involvement with these topics, especially among youth, IforCDL aspires not only to instigate meaningful social change but also to help bridge divergent horizons.
By the fellowship’s midpoint, our objective was to refine our operational structure and establish a robust foundation. Continuing tis project well beyond the fellowship, we plan to grow our online presence and curate a comprehensive collection of resources, articles, and information.
About the Millennium Fellow
Hermine is a finance, economics, public policy, and law student. She is completing her business degree with the University of Hong Kong. After taking part in COP27, she is seizing the Millennium Fellowship as a unique opportunity to merge her long-standing passions for decoding international financial and economic dynamics, addressing pressing sustainability challenges, and building inclusive initiatives with a broad impact.
Having lived in several countries, Hermine’s curiosity fuels her eagerness to continuously embrace new challenges and broaden her horizons. She is looking forward to making the most of this experience to contribute to positive change and learn from other fellows.
