Millennium Fellowship Project: UnityForHealth
UnityForHealth wants to make healthcare more accessible to undocumented Latino people by providing resources that can be used to understand the healthcare system already in place. We want to offer translation services, legal and healthcare services, information on insurance requirements and restrictions, information on free clinics nearby the consumers, and information of specialist doctors who treat regardless of insurance or documentation status. We want to promote inclusivity and unity within a system that has continuously left people to the side with no regard.
About the Millennium Fellow
Melissa Quiceno is a senior at Lynn University, studying Social Entrepreneurship with a minor in International Relations, in Boca Raton, Florida. Melissa is passionate about accessibility in the healthcare field and hopes to impact the lives of undocumented Latinos who struggle with having access to healthcare. After she graduates, her plan is to take a gap year to work on her social enterprise before beginning law school and becoming an attorney.
