Millennium Fellowship Project: Formulation of VEP antiseptic herbal wound spray from locally sourced medicinal plants
The project aims to transform health care system by adopting herbal and complementary medicines so that patients can always have effective, safe and affordable options for treatment.
In that regard, the project emphasised on the formulation of VEP Antiseptic herbal wound spray, a herbal formulation from locally sourced raw medicinal plants, Bidens Pilosa (Black jack) and Aloe vera. It is intended to be used for wound healing especially minor cuts, burns, and bruises.
The project was also awarded by Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uganda in the Heroes In Health Awards as the best students innovation of the year.
