Millennium Fellowship Project: The Breaktime Student Athletes
Thousands of children in Dhaka city have been ripped off of their youth and given the undue responsibility of the breadwinner in their families. These children belong to underprivileged, often destitute families suffering from extreme poverty. With no education or source of entertainment, these children have leaned towards drug abuse as a coping mechanism for hunger, depression, and pain while their lives spiral around ruthless struggle in search of a living.
Through The Breaktime Student Athletes project, we aim to organize charity sports tournaments for many such children, creating for them a regular source of entertainment and sustainable fund streams that will sponsor their education. Partnering up with organizations not limited to NGO schools, Sports and Technology brands, Public Figures/Influencers, Entertainment Facilities, Sports Communities, MFS and Banking services, and the NSU Administration, we aim to utilize NSU's 27000+ student body to organize sporting events that can range from physical sports (Soccer, Cricket, Picnic games etc.) or E-Sports (Combat and Action Games, Virtual Sports, Racing, etc.). Our key goal is to ensure that our target beneficiaries and participants can all enjoy the sporting activities together, and that these activities can surmount to meaningful outcomes that have a lasting impact, i.e. empower the underserved youth with education and entertainment.
About the Millennium Fellow
Syed Nabil Ahsan is a dedicated final-year student at North South University. Nabil is pursuing a dual major in Finance and Supply Chain Management. His academic journey reflects his drive to unravel the complexities of investment markets while mastering the intricacies of supply chain financing. Nabil's unyielding determination and strategic mindset serve as his compass, propelling him towards honing his expertise in these specialised domains. With a keen focus on professional growth, Nabil aspires to make meaningful contributions and excel in his chosen fields, and he has initiated that by joining The Breaktime Student Athletes project. He believes he can contribute his skills to the betterment of the society, and coupled with the resources and teachings of the Millennium Fellowship, Nabil hopes to unravel the boundless potential of the project.
