Millennium Fellowship Project: The Water Project

In the United States’ impoverished areas, there are food deserts, droughts, and water pollution. My project will address specifically the water pollution aspect of these three issues, specifically in Atlanta, Georgia. I will set up water stations in areas that are little to no (clean water). One local area would be Vine City. This area has recently been facing issues with contamination from old lead pipes. The Water Project is a project designed to provide clean water to the community through events and drives. The water will be given to the food bank or a local church to be distributed to families in those areas. This project also features an education portion, handing out flyers with information about the recent water contamination. It includes a list of contaminated areas, how to combat this water contamination issue, affects on the consumption of contaminated water, and water intake safety. This project plans to achieve goal number six of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals: Clean Water and Sanitation.
