Millennium Fellowship Project: دستکاری/Dastkari
The project aimed to provide women with the skills and resources necessary to create and sell their own handicrafts, generating income and promoting financial independence. Through training and workshops, I aimed to empowered women to take control of their economic livelihoods and pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.
Project is mainly based on SDG goal 1 no poverty. Not only did the project support Goal 5 of the UN SDGs by promoting gender equality and empowering women, but it also contributed to Goal 8 by promoting decent work and economic growth. By supporting local artisans and promoting sustainable practices, the project also aligned with Goal 12 on responsible consumption and production.
About the Millennium Fellow
Hafsa Zaka, an entrepreneur, is the proud owner of the handicraft startup "Dastkari." Hafsa has built a platform that combines creativity and culture, with a deep commitment to preserving traditional artistry and encouraging skilled workmanship. Dastkari not only nurtures her entrepreneurial goals, but it also fosters a community that appreciates the uniqueness of handmade creations.
