Millennium Fellowship Project: Data Against Hunger
Data Against Hunger' is an initiative to address the lack of food stocks that the food banks of London are facing as of today. Specifically, we aim to facilitate the connection process of food banks with their possible benefactors that have surplus and willing to give.
Our project consists of making a database based on inventories of participating food banks and restaurants and notifying the food banks of suroplkuses that they may collect from nearby businesses. We send out mail to food banks and participating businesses every week to fill in their inventories. Our program then compares those to allocate iddentified surpluses based on factors such as items in need and distance. Automated mail is sent to food banks to advise them where they can collect the items they are in need of.
About the Millennium Fellow
