" While globalisation and socialisation offers many young people opportunities to live, study, and mature in diverse countries and cultures from a young age, this experience isn't without its challenges. Indeed, these journeys can present myriad perspectives from which young people can grow and learn. However, it can also lead to fractured or conflicted sense of selfs during the crucial stage of identity formation in their psychosocial development. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Global Citizens Conscious for Change

Globalisation and social mobilisation have allowed many young people to live, study, and develop in different countries from an early age. This is a great opportunity to develop and learn from varied perspectives. However, such lifestyle changes during the important time of identity formation can lead to disassociated identities and feelings of insecurity, threatening young global citizen’s subjective well-being and making them feel like outsiders wherever they are.

Therefore, To mitigate feelings of isolation and disassociation that may arise from cross-cultural experiences among young adults going through crisis during their psychological identity development process. We have collected data from 200+ participants and are currently in the process of publishing A handbook, combining expert opinions, scientific evidence and stories from individuals that we engaged with. Future global citizens shall be able to obtain insights from this handbook when encountering culture-related identity crisis.
