Millennium Fellowship Project: Banco comunitario de medicamentos

In Mexico, the health public service for most of the population unfortunately is
deficient. So many people don ́t recieve medic attention and the medicines that they
need to their illness, the public service tell them to pay in external pharmacy and
many of them just recieve a limited payment to survive and the most basic on each
day and therefore they cannot acquire. That is why this project born as a "bank" that
means that recollect medicines from donations of people that have many in their
house and don ́t need ir more for their personal use and also from institutions and give
it to each person that really need it showing an ID and medical prescription. Until
today, are 56 banks of medicines active in all the state of Nuevo Leon and each one
have their coordinator and people that support and help them to release the
medicines.

About the Millennium Fellow

Paulina Muñiz is a medical student at Universidad de Monterrey in Mexico. Pau is a pasionate person in topics of health, nutrition and sustainability. She is focused on support and impact the community encouraging others to reach the objetives saving lives with the little actions of everybody that can change the future of another person. Once she graduates, Pau has the plan to discover, create and leave many leaders in her country to expand the project. Also she has the vision to create projects with the government to improve the health services after study public health.
